Confirming Scores (Within 48 Hours)

  • The opposing captain must log in, go to the match date, click Options → Confirm Score, review, and click I Confirm This Match.

  • If scores are wrong, call or email the captain who entered them. They can update by selecting Options → Change Score.

  • Once confirmed, only the League Coordinator can make corrections.

  • Matches are best two out of three sets with regular scoring.

  • At 6–6, play a 7-point Coman Tiebreak (win by 2).

  • If sets are split, play a 10-point Coman Super Tiebreak (win by 2) instead of a third set. Enter as 1–0 on the scorecard.

  • One (1) point is awarded for each overall team match win (not individual courts).

  • Some divisions play four courts so that team matches may end 2–2. If tied:

    1. Fewest individual sets lost

    2. Fewest individual games lost

Regular Season Match Tiebreakers

When teams are tied in a season match.  i.e., 2-2 or 1-1.   The following order of priority:  Regular season matches (not overall standings) will start the tiebreaker “Fewest Individual Sets Lost”.

  1. Fewest Individual Sets Lost

  2. Fewest Individual Games Lost

  3. If still tied, the match is declared a tie.

Division Standings

  • Primary Ranking: Teams are ranked by their overall team match record (wins vs. losses).

Tie-Break Order of Importance

  1. Head-to-head (only if it produces a clear ranking)

  2. Fewest individual matches lost

  3. Fewest individual sets lost

  4. Fewest individual games lost

  5. Drawing (if still tied after all criteria)

Uneven Schedules

  • If teams do not play the same number of matches, standings are determined by winning percentage:
Winning % = Team Match Wins ÷ Matches Played

    • This percentage appears in the “Points” column in the Topdog standings.

  • Head-to-head (only if it produces a clear ranking)

  • Fewest individual matches lost percentage

  • Fewest individual sets lost percentage

  • Fewest individual games lost percentage

Head-to-Head Rule

  • If two or more teams are tied, use head-to-head results first.

  • For three or more tied teams, form a “mini-group” of just those teams and compare results only within that group.

Scenarios in 3-Way Ties

  • Clear Winner Example:

    • Team A: 2–0 vs. B & C

    • Team B: 1–1

    • Team C: 0–2

    • Result: Team A wins the tie. B and C are ranked using the following criteria (fewest matches lost, sets lost, etc.).

  • Circular Wins (Rock-Paper-Scissors):

    • A beats B, B beats C, C beats A → all 1–1.

    • Result: Skip head-to-head → move to fewest individual matches lost.

  • Incomplete Head-to-Head:

    • If all tied teams have not played each other, skip head-to-head and go directly to the fewest individual matches lost.

Defaults & Retirements

  • Default (one team): If no players are fielded, record as Default. Missing players = “Default” in drop-down. Score = 6-0, 6-0 for non-defaulting team.

  • Double Default: If both teams fail to field players, record as Double Default with no scores. System ignores winner status.

  • Retirement: If the match stops mid-game, the non-retiring team is awarded that game. Remaining games are credited as if completed. If no games played → record as Default.

Coman Tiebreak Procedure

  • Ends change after the first point, then every four points (5th, 9th, 13th, etc.), and at the end of the tiebreak.

  • In doubles, the serving rotation ensures each server serves from the same end throughout.

  • Advantage: Fairer distribution of conditions (sun, wind, etc.) and consistent serving ends in doubles.
